Meet the Staff - Jennifer C. Kensel

Jennifer C. KenselJennifer C. Kensel currently serves as Vice Principal for Strategic Planning and Marketing at Mercy High School in Middletown, Connecticut. In this position, she oversees strategic planning, marketing, public relations and development. Prior to joining the staff of the school, Jennifer served as Chair of the Mercy High School Board of Trustees and the Principal’s Council. She serves on the board of the Network for Mercy Education and is a member of the Mercy Secondary Education Association. For these organizations, Jennifer has been a speaker and presenter on Mission Based Planning, Values, Practices and Cultures in Mercy Schools, Board Effectiveness and various leadership topics.

Jennifer has extensive leadership experience in both the corporate and non-profit sectors. During her twenty-year career at CIGNA Corporation, she held executive positions in client relations and human resources. Her board experience includes: Altrusa International, Inc., Hartford College for Women, and Junior Achievement of Southwest New England, Inc. She also served on CIGNA’s United Way/Combined Health Appeal Committee, the Corporate Contributions Committee, and the CIGNA Volunteer of the Month Selection Committee, having received that award earlier in her career.

A native of Connecticut, Jennifer received her Bachelor of Arts degree Magna Cum Laude in Modern Languages from Fairfield University. She has completed executive level courses in business strategy, management, marketing, and facilitation. She has also served as a trainer and facilitator in sales management, change management, client relations, diversity, human resources and executive leadership programs.

Jennifer serves Catholic School Management and its clients on a part-time basis, specializing in strategic planning, mission planning, institutional assessments, and administrator searches.
